SERVE

Scramble – Our Wednesday Evening Meal

Every Wednesday evening we host a free-will offering meal that we call “SCRAMBLE”. This meal is provided by church groups or organizations from the community. Serving time is 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in our Family Life Center. All are invited to join us! (There is no Scramble in July.)

Harvesters & Back Snacks

On the first Monday of each month, we are partnering with Harvesters for mobile food distribution. This takes place at the Clay County Fair Grounds, 205 S. 12th street, Clay Center, Kansas at 11:30 a.m. Please contact the church office at 785-632-3106 to sign up to help with this ministry. Co-Leaders are Kathy Beougher and Diane Lykins.

We also partner with Harvesters for the Back Snacks program for Lincoln and Garfield Schools in Clay Center. Carolyn Kirtley is leading this ministry program. We are reaching out beyond the walls of our church to show mercy and compassion to our community.

Delivery of Friendship Meals

This ministry in partnership with North Central- Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, Inc. through the local Clay Center Senior Center. We have volunteers that deliver meals to the homebound 2 months each year. This allows seniors to have a nutritional meal five days a week, along with a smile and short visit from the delivery person. If you would like to help with this ministry, please call Marabeth at the church 785-632-3106.

Blessing Box

Our Blessing Box is filled with donated, non-perishable items for anyone in need. Our motto is, “Give what you can – Take what you need.” The Blessing Box is located at the Family Life Center entrance on Clarke Street.

Disaster Response

As part of our ministry to our neighbors around the corner and around the world, we provide volunteers for UMCOR’s Early Response Teams through the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church. These volunteers arrive on scene after natural disasters and provide assistance with cleanup, and spiritual support for those impacted. Please contact the church office if you wish to become an ERT member.
